This NASKA 5A rated event brought out New England’s finest and also some of the top competitors from around the world! The New England Open added a new and very exciting event called the New York Life Super Fights offering $2000 in prize money. The winner of the $2000 was none other the “The Super Fighter” himself Jadi Tention. Jadi won the Men’s Sparring Grand Championship to make it a sweep. Also up for grabs was $1500 to the Team sparring winner, which went to Team Straight Up. In Women’s Sparring, Ebony Adams looks to be back and on a mission to take over the women’s fighting division. Casey Marks-Nash and Jonathan Boyd continue their dominance of their divisions. Austin Crain won another Grand Championship, Becca Ross showed everyone why she is set to be the next NASKA Star. Ryan Redfoot is proving that Traditional forms and weapons katas can and do win Grand Championships. There also looks to be some serious competition coming along to challenge Team Pro Rank as the number one Sync Forms Team as Team Paul Mitchell International’s Casey Marks-Nash and Lauren Kearney demonstrated that sharing can be a good thing. Steve Terada won a close decision that came down to a tie breaker. The Team Demonstration division is starting to attract more teams who are out to challenge the number one ranked K.I.C.K.
