It was Showtime in Miami as the Pan American Internationals ended the 2003 NASKA world tour. Manny Reyes, Sr. was able to draw a solid number of top NASKA competitors and a lot of local and international competitors too. The Pan Americans has a unique way to give juniors some more recognition. They have Overall Grand for 10-11 girls fighting winner against the 12-13 winner. Nicole Costales defeated Nicole Provost by a score of 5-2. Then 12-13 boys small winner vs the tall winner. It was Aeron Wilson against Alberto Martinez. Martinez won the match 5-1. In adult weapons, Jon Boyd won overall defeating Daniel Sterling and Lauren Kearney. Daniel Sterling defeated Jeff Liotta and Andrew Cabilan to win the men’s forms grand and Lauren Kearney won the women’s title after defeating Holly House and Cindy Powell. An exhibition match of mixed martial arts between Manny Reyes, Jr and Randy Calcine, Reyes put Calcine into a choke hold giving Reyes the win. The women’s fighting grands with Dottie White facing Joyce Blanco. The junior boys had a chance to shine as Chovanic’s team faced WKF’s two man team. Synchronized team forms pitted Team Sansei #1 of Calvino and Espina against Team Sansei #2 of Cifre and Bichara. The final event of the evening was the men’s sparring grands. This was a great match with Yoskar Games giving Preston Clements a tough match, it came down to the final seconds with Clements scoring a point and winning the overall title with a score of only 3-2.
